Review
This splendid, exciting, beautifully illustrated account of the Age of Exploration relates events so dramatic that they would have been dismissed as implausible fiction if they hadn't actually happened. Don't think of this as just' a book for kids: children's parents will find it equally gripping and informative. —Jared Diamond, Professor of Geography at UCLA, and author of the best-selling Pulitzer-Prize-winner Guns, Germs, and Steel

Should this book be addressed to young readers?
By Pascota
While this book has a well-summarized history of exploration, and good reference illustrations, I was shocked to find graphic renditions of human sacrifices and torture/dismembering. I am glad I took a look at our library copy before handing it over to my young children.
I do appreciate a frank description of history, however, grisly details should be reserved to more mature audiences, in my opinion. I cannot imagine how the other reviewers reported that children loved the book...
I had a nightmare after seeing the grisly images, and I certainly did not want to expose my children to the same experience.

Excellent book about early exploration...
By M. Gregory
We really liked the way that all of the information in this book was organized and presented. Excellent spring-board type book for a study on early exploration. Great read aloud for the whole family with plenty of pictures. I, as well as the kids really learned a lot!

Simply brilliant
By M. Heiss
Develops the Age of Exploration through the famous Europeans, plus Leif Erickson (briefly) and Zheng He (VERY briefly). Presents the problem with Venetian-Muslim control of the spice and silk route and explains (briefly) the Reconquista, which freed up adventurous European armies to go a-conquering New Worlds.

Presents migration and culture contact, and in a thoughtful way shows the negative results as well as the positive -- for the Europeans as well as the people they encountered/enslaved. Very interesting perspective.

Wonderful timelines and great illustrations, photographs, and maps.

This book is a keeper.

Blue Dahlia (In the Garden, Book 1), by Nora Roberts

Against the backdrop of a house steeped in history and a thriving new gardening business, three women unearth the memories of the past in the first novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts' In the Garden Trilogy.

A Harper has always lived at Harper House, the centuries-old mansion just outside of Memphis. And for as long as anyone alive remembers, the ghostly Harper Bride has walked the halls, singing lullabies at night…

Trying to escape the ghosts of the past, young widow Stella Rothchild, along with her two energetic little boys, has moved back to her roots in southern Tennessee. She isn’t intimidated by Harper House—nor by its mistress. Despite a reputation for being difficult, Roz Harper has been nothing but kind to Stella, offering her a comfortable place to live and a challenging new job as manager of the flourishing In the Garden nursery.

As Stella settles comfortably into her new life, she finds a nurturing friendship with Roz and expectant mother Hayley and a fierce attraction to ruggedly handsome landscaper Logan Kitridge. He’s difficult but honest, brash but considerate—and undeniably sexy. And for a sensible woman like Stella, he may be just what she needs…

From Publishers Weekly
Flower metaphors run amok in this first installment of Roberts's newest trilogy, which focuses on a quaint nursery called In the Garden and the haunted estate neighboring it. The book starts out at a plodding pace, with the sudden death of Stella Rothchild's beloved husband and her subsequent move, with her two young boys, from Michigan to the outskirts of Memphis. Fortunately, the pace picks up after Stella plants her roots at Harper estate and secures a job managing In the Garden, which is owned by Roz Harper, the same blunt, self-assured woman who presides over the estate. Though strictly regimented Stella forms a fast friendship with Roz, she clashes with Logan Kitridge, the nursery's sexy landscape designer. Logan is the antithesis of Stella—brash and impulsive, he thrives on chaos—but their enmity inevitably gives way to love. The scenes between them crackle with wit, charm and sexual tension, and are rivaled only by the warm relationships that develop among Stella, Roz and Hayley, a distant relative of Roz's who comes to the estate seeking a fresh start. Less effective is a subplot involving a ghost who doesn't seem to approve of Stella's relationship with Logan. This thread provides a few spooky moments, but it would have been more effective without the prologue's clichd setup. While this book isn't vintage Roberts, it's a promising start to a new series.

From Booklist
Stella Rothchild loves everything about her new job as manager of In the Garden nursery. She appreciates her new, no-nonsense boss, "Roz" Harper, and she doesn't even mind living with Roz at Harper House, despite the fact that the ghost of the "Harper Bride" reportedly haunts the historic mansion. When a young and pregnant Hayley Phillips, a distant relative of Roz's, shows up at Harper House, she becomes a valued friend. The only thing Stella doesn't like about her situation is the ruggedly sexy yet completely annoying landscaper, Logan. Despite Stella's best efforts to develop a professional working relationship with him, he seems to have little time and no patience for her efforts to reorganize the nursery. Then Logan completely disrupts Stella's careful plans for her future by asking her out. Roberts, the queen of romance, launches a new trilogy with a captivating tale in which her considerable talents at creating richly compelling characters and witty, spellbinding stories come into full bloom in a paranormal-tinged romance. Loved this trilogy!
By Alenya
These three novels are some of Nora Roberts best writing, in my opinion. The storyline, characters, dialogue, and the way she weaves everything together into a beautiful tapestry is masterly!
This is probably the third or fourth time I've read it, and I get something new out of it every time.
Nora Roberts sense of humor and mine are simpatico, and I get such a kick out of her quick wit. Her "voice" is spot on with children, and parent-speak.
I love how her characters are such unique individuals, with their own strengths and weaknesses! They are "real" people you care about, and can relate to.
After reading this, I would love to be able to just step into this story; work at, "In the Garden", live in Harper House, and claim all those who live and work there as friends and family!
Since I can't do that...guess I'll just have to keep re-reading the story once a year or so, and visit them all again.

Magic Combination
By Frances Langley
In true trilogy fashion you have stories of three couples, including the domestic charm, the business boutique charm, and the mentally disturbed villain. The best part is the ongoing mystery that manifests, is investigated and solved. I have read this trilogy about three times (possibly four!) Once I advance through the first time (the "can't stop until I'm finished madness!) it is fun and relaxing to read through later when I need something stress free (yes, I already know what happens... that's why it's relaxing!)

Gotta get the next one in the series now to see what happens next. It's Roberts is terrific. Love how she incorporates the ghost into the storyline.....magical weave of the supernatural. Her heroine Stella is lifelike, her feelings, believable. Great blend of characters. Feel I k ow them personally!

This Is How You Lose Her, by Junot Díaz

Pulitzer Prize-winner Junot Daz’s first book, Drown, established him as a major new writer with “the dispassionate eye of a journalist and the tongue of a poet” (Newsweek). His first novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, was named #1 Fiction Book of the Year” by Time magazine and spent more than 100 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, establishing itself – with more than a million copies in print – as a modern classic. In addition to the Pulitzer, Daz has won a host of major awards and prizes, including the National Book Critic’s Circle Award, the PEN/Malamud Award, the PEN/O. Henry Prize, the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and the Anisfield-Wolf Award.

Now Daz turns his remarkable talent to the haunting, impossible power of love – obsessive love, illicit love, fading love, maternal love. On a beach in the Dominican Republic, a doomed relationship flounders. In the heat of a hospital laundry room in New Jersey, a woman does her lover’s washing and thinks about his wife. In Boston, a man buys his love child, his only son, a first baseball bat and glove. At the heart of these stories is the irrepressible, irresistible Yunior, a young hardhead whose longing for love is equaled only by his recklessness--and by the extraordinary women he loves and loses: artistic Alma; the aging Miss Lora; Magdalena, who thinks all Dominican men are cheaters; and the love of his life, whose heartbreak ultimately becomes his own. In prose that is endlessly energetic, inventive, tender, and funny, the stories in the New York Times-BestsellingThis Is How You Lose Her lay bare the infinite longing and inevitable weakness of the human heart. They remind us that passion always triumphs over experience, and that “the half-life of love is forever.”

Amazon Best Books of the Month, September 2012: This Is How You Lose Her features nine stories by Junot Diaz, who won the Pulitzer Prize for his novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao in 2008. At the center of each story is Yunior (making his third appearance in Diaz's work), a Dominican American stud who, despite his macho exterior, aches to be loved. At first blush, this slim volume lacks the ambition and scope of Oscar Wao, a condensed pop-culture epic. But Diaz has done an extraordinary thing here: He has taken Yunior's heart and battered it every which way to show how love--romantic, physical, or familial--can affect even the most masculine character. The final story, "The Cheater's Guide to Love," features the collection's stickiest line: "The half-life of love is forever." Diaz compares heartbreak to radiation, its strength decaying exponentially over time. You can bury it underground and try to forget about it, but it never goes away entirely. --Kevin Nguyen

Finalist for the 2012 Story Prize
Chosen as a notable or best book of the year by The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly,The LA Times, Newsday, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, the iTunes bookstore, andmany more...

“Junot Dazwrites in an idiom so electrifying and distinct it’s practically an act of aggression, at once enthralling, even erotic in its assertion of sudden intimacy… [It is] a syncopated swagger-step between opacity and transparency, exclusion and inclusion, defiance and desire… His prose style is so irresistible, so sheerly entertaining, it risks blinding readers to its larger offerings. Yet he weds form so ideally to content that instead of blinding us, it becomes the very lens through which we can see the joy and suffering of the signature Dazsubject: what it means to belong to a diaspora, to live out the possibilities and ambiguities of perpetual insider/outsider status.” –The New York Times Book Review

"Nobody does scrappy, sassy, twice-the-speed of sound dialogue better than Junot Daz. His exuberant short story collection, calledThis Is How You Lose Her, charts the lives of Dominican immigrants for whom the promise of America comes down to a minimum-wage paycheck, an occasional walk to a movie in a mall and the momentary escape of a grappling in bed." –Maureen Corrigan, NPR

“Exhibits the potent blend of literary eloquence and street cred that earned him a Pulitzer Prize… Daz’s prose is vulgar, brave, and poetic.” –O Magazine

“Searing, irresistible new stories… It’s a harsh worldDaz conjures but one filled also with beauty and humor and buoyed by the stubborn resilience of the human spirit.” –People

“Junot Daz has one of the most distinctive and magnetic voices in contemporary fiction: limber, streetwise, caffeinated and wonderfully eclectic… The strongest tales are those fueled by the verbal energy and magpie language that made Brief Wondrous Life so memorable and that capture Yunior’s efforts to commute between two cultures, Dominican and American, while always remaining an outsider.” –Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times

“These stories… are virtuosic, command performances that mine the deceptive, lovelorn hearts of men with the blend of tenderness, comedy and vulgarity of early Philip Roth. It's Daz's voice that's such a delight, and it is every bit his own, a melting-pot pastiche of Spanglish and street slang, pop culture and Dominican culture, and just devastating descriptive power, sometimes all in the same sentence.” –USA Today

“Impressive… comic in its mopiness, charming in its madness and irresistible in its heartfelt yearning.” –The Washington Post

"The dark ferocity of each of these stories and the types of love it portrays is reason enough to celebrate this book. But the collection is also a major contribution to the short story form...It is an engrossing, ambitious book for readers who demand of their fiction both emotional precision and linguistic daring." –NPR

“The centripetal force of Daz’s sensibility and the slangy bar-stool confidentiality of his voice that he makes this hybridization feel not only natural and irresistible, but inevitable, the voice of the future… [This is How You Lose Her] manages to be achingly sad and joyful at the same time. Its heart is true, even if Yunior’s isn’t.” –Salon

“[A] propulsive new collection… [that] succeeds not only because of the author's gift for exploring the nuances of the male… but because of a writing style that moves with the rhythm and grace of a well-danced merengue.” –Seattle Times

“In Daz’s magisterial voice, the trials and tribulations of sex-obsessed objectifiers become a revelation.” –The Boston Globe

“Scooch over, Nathan Zuckerman. New Jersey has bred a new literary bad boy… A.” –Entertainment Weekly

“Ribald, streetwise, and stunningly moving—a testament, like most of his work, to the yearning, clumsy ways young men come of age.” –Vogue

“[An] excellent new collection of stories… [Daz is] an energetic stylist who expertly moves between high-literary storytelling and fizzy pop, between geek culture and immigrant life, between romance and high drama.” –IndieBound

“Taken together, [these stories’] braggadocio softens into something much more vulnerable and devastating. The intimacy and immediacy… is not just seductive but downright conspiratorial… A heartbreaker.” –The Daily Beast

"Daz manages a seamless blend of high diction and low, of poetry and vulgarity… Look no further for home truths on sex and heartbreak." –The Economist

“This collection of stories, like everything else [Daz has] written, feels vital in the literal sense of the word. Tough, smart, unflinching, and exposed, This is How You Lose Her is the perfect reminder of why Junot Daz won the Pulitzer Prize… [He] writes better about the rapid heartbeat of urban life than pretty much anyone else." –The Christian Science Monitor

“Filled with Daz’s signature searing voice, loveable/despicable characters and so-true-it-hurts goodness.” –Flavorwire

“Daz writes with subtle and sharp brilliance… He dazzles us with his language skills and his story-making talents, bringing us a narrative that is starkly vernacular and sophisticated, stylistically complex and direct… A spectacular read.” –Minneapolis Star-Tribune

"[This is How You Lose Her] has maturity in content, if not in ethical behavior… Daz’s ability to be both conversational and formal, eloquent and plainspoken, to say brilliant things Trojan-horsed in slang and self-deprecation, has a way of making you put your guard completely down and be effected in surprising and powerful ways." –The Rumpus

“As tales of relationship redemption go, each of the nine relatable short stories in Junot Daz's consummate collection This Is How You Lose Her triumphs… Through interrogative second-person narration and colloquial language peppered with Spanish, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author authentically captures Junior's cultural and emotional dualities.” –Metro

“Searing, sometimes hilarious, and always disarming… Readers will remember why everyone wants to write like Daz, bring him home, or both. Raw and honest, these stories pulsate with raspy ghetto hip-hop and the subtler yet more vital echo of the human heart.” –Publishers Weekly (starred review)

“Daz’s standout fiction remains pinpoint, sinuous, gutsy, and imaginative… Each taut tale of unrequited and betrayed love and family crises is electric with passionate observations and off-the-charts emotional and social intelligence… Fast-paced, unflinching, complexly funny, street-talking tough, perfectly made, and deeply sensitive, Daz’s gripping stories unveil lives shadowed by prejudice and poverty and bereft of reliable love and trust. These are precarious, unappreciated, precious lives in which intimacy is a lost art, masculinity a parody, and kindness, reason, and hope struggle to survive like seedlings in a war zone.” –Booklist (starred review)

“Daz’s third book is as stunning as its predecessors. These stories are hard and sad, but in Daz’s hands they also crackle.” –Library Journal (starred review)

“Magnificent… an exuberant rendering of the driving rhythms and juicy Spanglish vocabulary of immigrant speech… sharply observed and morally challenging.” –Kirkus

“A beautifully stirring look at ruined relationships and lost love—and a more than worthy follow-up to [Daz’s] 2007 Pulitzer winner, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.” –Bookpage

"InThis Is How You Lose Her, Daz writes with subtlety and grace, once again demonstrating his remarkable facility for developing fully-realized and authentic characters with an economical rawness...Daz skillfully portrays his protagonist so vividly, and with so much apparent honesty, that Yunior’s voice comes across with an immediacy that never once feels inauthentic."–California Literary Review

"Daz continues to dazzle with his dynamite, street-bruised wit. The bass line of this collection is a thumpingly raw and sexual foray into lives that claw against poverty and racism. It is a wild rhythm that makes more vivid the collection’s heart-busted steadiness." –Dallas Morning News

Praise for JunotDaz

"One of contemporary fiction's most distinctive and irresistible voices." –Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times

“Talent this big will always make noise.”–Newsweek

“Graceful and raw and painful and smart... Thepages turn and all of a sudden you’re done andyou want more.” –The Boston Globe

“Like Raymond Carver, Daz transfiguresdisorder and disorientation with a rigoroussense of form... [He] wrings the heart with finely calibrated restraint.”–The New York Times Book Review

This was my first foray into Junot Diaz and it was as painful as the title suggests. It's also pretty self referential which also stings.

Junior's relationships with the women in his life is a giant billboard for how people get trapped in the grooves and struggle to change in spite of their desire to do so. There's also an element of the external witness who sees Yunior's train coming vs. the internal Yunior who wanders along looking only at the tracks. He's always surprised each time he gets hit.

I really loved reading this book. There are some really funny laugh out loud moments and quite a lot of times I was sucking air through my teeth hoping for a different outcome and knowing it wouldn't change.

The book is also beautifully crafted with sharp, sharp descriptive and beautiful images of the world Yunior inhabits. I especially loved the descriptions of the women in Yuniors' life but all of the other characters, in particular his brother, are alive with depth.

I struggled with the Spanish along the way and ended up using google translate on my phone to read my iPad which worked well. Understanding the Spanish added a lot so I recommend taking the time to do that.

I'm looking forward to reading more Junot Diaz. Thank you as always to my friend for the recommendation.

"Then I saw her face, Now I'm a believer" Neil Diamond
By Bernie
Someone once described "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman as she gets caught, she escapes, she gets caught again, she escapes again, then she gets caught, then she escapes. This may be true but the real substance of the epic is the how and why.

It is the "how" that holds the story together. We are intrigued with Lyra's ability to plan and lie her way out of trouble. Eventually it is the truth that sets her free.

The "why" she is being sought and the "why" she must go on brings us many conundrums that we not only face in the tale but also in our real life.

Lyra must fulfill a prophecy; however if she becomes aware of her destiny, that destiny may never happen. For those readers who have read Josef Campbell you will recognize the classic Heroine's Journey where a person coming of age must sacrifice the apron strings and face the challenge of adulthood. This includes going into a dark place and confronting an unknown which usually is one's own fears and ego. From there they are reborn to become a fully functional person in society.

Oh, did I forget to tell you that this is a fun read.

I highly recommend the boxed set of His Dark Materials trilogy
By Jamie W.
I highly recommend the boxed set of His Dark Materials trilogy. After reading the first book, The Golden Compass, the series just gets better. Reviews for each of the books follow:

The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials Trilogy, book 1) - 3 stars
Lyra Belacqua makes the most of her life at Jordan College. It's not typical for a young girl to be raised at the College, but the Scholars take care of her and ensure she learns what she can as she continues to grow up. Though her family is dead, Lyra is never alone. Her daemon, Pan, is always at her side. Lyra is not a fan of structured learning and loves to run wild around the College with her best friend Roger. Like most kids, they make up horror stories to try and scare the other one. The most frightful story though, happens to be grounded in truth. The Gobblers come to town and take children away from their families in the middle of the night.

Lyra's Uncle, Lord Asriel, is highly esteemed among the Scholars of Jordan College. One day he comes to tell them of his adventures and of some dire news. Lyra, not content with being left out, hides in the closet to hear the story. It's then that she learns of Dust and that her Uncle is going North on an expedition. Dust is a particle that appears to enter the world from the Northern Lights. Many, like Lord Asriel, are intrigued by it as it's supposed to be the link to other universes. Others, like the General Oblation Board, are fearful of it; thinking it the cause of original sin and want to destroy it. Lyra is soon thrust into a great adventure of her own, unknowingly caught between the two opposing forces and the lynchpin to turn the tide. She'll have to struggle to find the truth on her journey North and seek the help of witches, gypsies, and armored bears if she's to succeed.

The idea of the alethiometer (compass) was very intriguing. Each symbol has many multitudes of meanings. The number of times the needle stops on the same image relates to the numbered level of the meaning for that symbol. Being able to keep up with that and truly understand all the hidden meanings seems an impossible feat. It's so impossible that scholars have books of all the symbols and their meanings to decipher the codes. But, Lyra is gifted and the compass speaks to her. She inherently understands the intended meaning with relative ease.

This was a fun read. Lyra definitely flys by the seat of her pants and learns as she goes. She doesn't always understand everything, but is slowly able to put together the pieces and figure things out, sometimes too late. It's amazing the lengths both opposing sides are willing to go to in order to assure their victory. This book was definitely an adventure. I look forward to the next book in the trilogy and to seeing what other fantastical adventures to new worlds await.

A quote:
"He raised his wings and spread them wide before folding them again. "There," he said, "I have just brushed ten million other worlds, and they knew nothing of it. We are as close as a heartbeat, but we can never touch or see or hear these other worlds except in the Northern Lights.""

The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials, book 2) - 4 stars
The Subtle Knife picks up pretty much where The Golden Compass left off. At the end of the previous book, Lord Asriel had created an opening between worlds. Lyra passes through and finds herself in what appears to be a deserted world and a deserted city called Cittagazze. She walks through the streets and enters a cafe and no one is around. Cittagazze is a place where Specters steal the souls from adults, so all surviving adults have fled. Children can't see the Specters and are left alone until they get old enough.

While scouting the city, Lyra finds Will Parry, a boy without a daemon. He is also an outsider to this new world, fleeing his own after accidentally killing a man. The man was ransacking his house, looking for old correspondence between his mother and father. Will stumbled upon the new world by accident, but it has him wondering about how his father diassapeared so many years ago. Will is determined to find the truth about his father and Lyra is happy to help him. Together they venture between worlds and discover an object of great power, the subtle knife. Lyra continues to be pursued by Mrs. Coulter and Will continues to be pursued by the people that want information on his father. They will both have to be smart and brave to succeed in their quests.

I really enjoyed this book, even more than The Golden Compass. I think it has to do in part to the fact that I was already immersed in Lyra's world. I knew about daemons, the alethiometer (compass), and Dust. In this book, we start out in the human world, Will's home world. We get to see him discover a new world and Lyra, a person with a daemon. We get to see Lyra discover a person without a daemon and all the oddities of the human world. As they discuss and learn about each other, it makes clear what some of the terms in The Golden Compass meant and their relation to the human world. There continued to go be great adventure in this book and great danger. I enjoyed learning of the subtle knife and it's importance. It will be interesting to see what The Amber Spyglass has to add to the mix. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed The Golden Compass.

The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials, book 3) - 4 stars
In this final installment of His Dark Materials trilogy, Lyra has been captured by her mother, Mrs. Coulter, and is being kept in a perpetual state of sleep. In this sleep trance, Lyra can talk to her recently deceased friend Roger. She swears that she'll come and save him in the land of the dead.

Will is on a mission to find and save Lyra from her mother. He travels far and wide between worlds to discover where she is being kept and devise a plan to save her. But, Will is not the only one looking for Lyra. The Church has decided she must be killed at all costs, before she can be tempted and return evil and Dust to the world. They have sent a priest assassin to kill her. The Gallvespians, a small but deadly people, are also looking for Lyra on Lord Asriel's command. They are to find her and return her to Lord Asriel if possible. Lord Asriel is amassing an army from many different worlds to take on Metatron and start a war for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Dr. Mary Malone (from Will's world) has discovered a way to speak with the Shadows after following Lyra's advice. They tell her she must leave her studies and help Lyra. Mary follows the Shadows' advice immediately and finds herself in another world. This world is unlike any other seen thus far. It appears peaceful and more unmolested than most. The Mulefa are the dominant species instead of humans. They are most similar to elephants in our world, but are much differently shaped. They have no spines, are able to traverse the land on wheels, and are a highly intelligent people. They welcome Mary into their world and seek her guidance on what to do about Dust leaving their world.

Will and Lyra both have a strong sense of what they feel is right and wrong and what needs to be done. They will continue to fight with all their strength to do what is right and won't let anyone stop them, even if it means going to the land of the dead and the awful price that must be paid to do so. Their adventures are tough and will cause them to be wise for their years, with many lives lost, and the discovery of the true meaning of Dust.

Another great read in the trilogy. I love seeing the different worlds and getting to see the different people and cultures that have arisen from different circumstances. The mulefa's world seems more serene than most and more in tune with nature and the natural world. I was amazed at the adventure through the land of the dead and the discoveries made there as well as the capacity of Lyra to love. The mysteries that have been discussed throughout the books are nicely answered in this one. My only quibble is that both Will and Lyra seemed to grow up too much for their years by the end of the book. They definitely had to as a result of all they have been through, but I felt it was a bit much for their ages. All said though, it was a good and satisfying ending to the trilogy.

A quote:
"But I stopped believing there was a power of good and a power of evil that were outside us. And I came to believe that good and evil are names for what people do, not for what they are."

This was a gift!
By Amazon Customer
Someone I know had the first on a wishlist. So as a surprise and since once you read the first you want to read the rest I got the set for the price of 1!!!! The shipping was a bit slow and I was getting a bit worried that it wouldn't get here on time. I go the shipping notice but following the tracking was impossible but it was not updated at all. It took over 2 weeks and It just recently updated to delivered. So the item was in good shape for used but the shipping really was what brought this item down.

Received the book yesterday and I love it! Not really that much more to say
By Wickatwytch
Received the book yesterday and I love it! Not really that much more to say. It is well written, beautifully illustrated,
and jam packed with information. The quality of the book itself, size, paper and the design makes for an incredible presentation.

I'm most likely going to order another copy of it for myself. This way I have one copy to look nice on the shelf,
and another copy to highlight, underline and make notes in.

If you love essential oils, or know someone that does, treat yourself and / or them to a copy of this book. It makes a beautiful
addition to an essential oils library or a lovely gift. If you are new to essential oils, make this your first purchase, and learn from one of the best.
